  • Support multiple environments (development, test, staging, production) across on‑premises and cloud data centers, ensuring consistency and reliability.
  • Configure and maintain high‑availability solutions for SQL Server, including clustering, replication, and mirroring, to meet stringent uptime SLAs.
  • Provide tier‑2 and tier‑3 support to application teams, troubleshooting complex database‑related incidents and delivering root‑cause analyses.

  • Implement and manage database patches, upgrades, and hot‑fixes, coordinating with change‑management processes to minimize disruption.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for indexing, stored procedures, tables, and views to optimize query performance.
  • Analyze and tune database performance by reviewing execution plans, adjusting indexes, and refining schema designs as needed.
  • Design, build, and maintain enterprise‑scale ETL pipelines using tools such as SSIS, .NET integrations, and T‑SQL scripts.
  • Generate regular database health reports, capacity forecasts, and performance dashboards for senior leadership.
  • Create and enforce security models, managing database and application accounts, permissions, and auditing mechanisms.
  • Participate in application development lifecycles, providing guidance on optimal data modeling, access patterns, and transaction handling.
  • Plan, test, and document disaster‑recovery procedures for all production databases, conducting regular failover drills.
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews, recommending architectural changes to accommodate growth and evolving business needs.
  • Collaborate with data architects to assess storage requirements, forecast growth, and propose scaling strategies.
  • Maintain responsibility for the security and compliance of database platforms, ensuring adherence to industry standards and internal policies.
  • Perform load testing and stress‑testing activities to validate system resilience under peak traffic conditions.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned, contributing to cross‑functional initiatives and continuous‑improvement projects.
