Remote Senior 3D Animator - Character & Environment

Our client is a cutting-edge digital media studio seeking a talented and experienced Senior 3D Animator to join their fully remote creative team. This role is ideal for an artist with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in both character and environmental animation for games, film, or interactive media. You will be responsible for bringing projects to life through high-quality motion, complex character performances, and dynamic environment interactions. Working collaboratively with a distributed team of artists, designers, and developers, you will contribute significantly to the visual storytelling and immersive experiences of our client's projects. This is a remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work on exciting, innovative productions. Responsibilities: Animate high-quality characters, creatures, and environments for interactive and non-interactive media, focusing on realistic and stylized motion. Translate concepts and storyboards into compelling animated sequences, delivering strong performances and clear storytelling. Collaborate closely with art directors, lead animators, and other team members to ensure artistic vision and technical requirements are met. Work with rigging artists to ensure characters and assets are set up for successful animation. Implement and optimize animations within game engines or other production pipelines. Provide constructive feedback to other animators and participate in review sessions. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to animation, rigging, and pipeline integration. Contribute to the development and refinement of animation styles and pipelines. Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in 3D animation. Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines in a remote work environment. Mentor junior animators and share knowledge and techniques. Create visually stunning and emotionally engaging animated sequences that captivate audiences. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Animation, Fine Arts, Computer Graphics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a 3D Animator, with a significant portfolio demonstrating expertise in both character and environmental animation. Proficiency in industry-standard 3D animation software such as Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, or equivalent. Strong understanding of animation principles, including timing, spacing, weight, anticipation, and follow-through. Experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine is highly desirable. Knowledge of rigging systems and character setup. Excellent artistic eye, sense of composition, and storytelling ability. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team setting. Ability to take direction and adapt to feedback. Passion for creating high-quality animation and contributing to innovative projects. Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) is a plus.
