Online College Advisor - Application Specialist California-based candidate is preferred
We are seeking an experienced College Advisor to join our team on a very part-time, seasonal basis. Our workload is light for much of the year and typically increases in late spring and summer (now). The right candidate is comfortable starting with just a few hours per month, with the opportunity to grow to up to 30 hours per month during peak season, October and November. - Current or former UC or college advisors
- Education professionals seeking flexible, supplemental work
Experience Required
- 3–5 years of college advising experience
- Familiarity with college admissions timelines and application processes
- Experience advising high school students and families
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one college advising to students and families
- Support application planning, timelines, and strategy
- Review student materials and provide guidance and feedback
- Communicate clearly and professionally with families
- Work independently while collaborating with a small advisory team
- Comfortable and excellent using Zoom
Time Commitment & Schedule
- Available 3 days a week, 2 hours a day between 4-6 p.m. PST. We use Calendly so you can change your weekly availability as needed.
- MUST be available every week from October 15-December 15th. All holidays are observed.
- Initially a few hours per month
- Up to 30 hours per month during peak season
- Workload grows gradually as students are added
- All work is remote
