Purpose of the role

A Supplier Manager will oversee and manage third-party suppliers across Zego’s Operational functions (which includes Claims, Fraud and Customer Services), ensuring regulatory compliance, performance excellence, and strategic alignment with business goals. This role includes identifying, onboarding, and maintaining trusted supplier partnerships to support scalable service delivery and customer outcomes.

This role will report to Procurement Manager and will play a key role in supplier lifecycle management, from managing due diligence and contract negotiation through to performance monitoring, risk management, and exit planning with input from key stakeholders, with a strong focus on FCA-regulated standards and operational resilience.

What you'll be working on

Supplier Strategy and Relationship Management

  • Identify, onboard, and manage a network of trusted suppliers and partners to support business expansion and customer needs.
  • Build and nurture strong supplier relationships to ensure alignment with Zego’s service standards, commercial objectives, and regulatory expectations.
  • Act as the main point of contact for supplier communications, performance escalation, and capability assessments.
  • Work collaboratively with the Operational teams to align supplier capabilities with strategic opportunities.

Regulatory Compliance Risk Management

  • Ensure all supplier engagements, particularly material outsourcing, meet the requirements of Zego’s outsourcing and contract lifecycle management policies, particularly in relation to FCA compliance, operational resilience and third party risk requirements
  • Lead supplier risk assessments, onboarding checks, and regular compliance monitoring with support from Legal and Regulatory Affairs and operational stakeholders.
  • Manage and maintain accurate supplier registers, regularly reviewing with internal stakeholders.

Performance Monitoring and Commercial Oversight

  • Develop and implement supplier performance metrics, SLAs, and KPIs.
  • Lead regular performance reviews and strategic business reviews with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Use supplier data and performance insights to drive quality, accountability, and service improvement.
  • Support the negotiation and renewal of contracts, ensuring commercial alignment and risk mitigation.

Operational Resilience and Exit Planning

  • Establish and maintain exit plans, substitution strategies, and impact tolerances for critical suppliers in line with FCA’s Operational Resilience regime.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Regulatory Affairs to test supplier-related resilience scenarios and ensure compliance.

Governance Reporting

  • Prepare structured supplier governance reports for Risk Committees and senior leadership leveraging data within RiskSmart (Zego’s Risk Tool).
  • Support internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and third-party assurance activities.
  • Escalate supplier performance or compliance risks and contribute to ongoing risk mitigation planning.

What you will need to be successful

  • Proven experience managing supplier or partner relationships, preferably in a regulated, or technology-led service environment.
  • Strong knowledge of supplier management, outsourcing risk, and FCA regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent commercial awareness, with a track record in supplier negotiations and risk management.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, both internally and externally.
  • A structured, proactive mindset with attention to detail and an ability to juggle priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to create and use reporting tools to drive performance outcomes.
  • Understanding of ESG and CSR initiatives.
  • Be able to travel within UK meeting different suppliers, ideally have access to car.
  • Desirable: CIPS, other supplier management, procurement, or risk qualifications.
  • Desirable: CII or other financial services certifications (e.g., Cert CII, Dip CII).
  • Desirable: Familiarity with third-party risk and assurance frameworks, data protection (UK GDPR), and cloud/cyber supplier oversight.

This role would require some travelling across the country, meeting different suppliers which means you'll split your time between home, our offices in London and Halifax and time on the road. We cover the costs for all company-wide events (3 per year), and also provide a separate hybrid contribution to help pay towards other travel costs. We think it's a good mix of collaborative face time and flexible home-working, setting us up to achieve the right balance between work and life.
