 The Data Engineering team at Mural builds scalable, high-performance systems that transform complex data into actionable insights. We power internal analytics and user-facing features, supporting critical products powered by AI/Machine Learning like Customer Insights, Personalization, Reporting APIs, and Audit Logs. YOUR MISSION

 As a Senior Data Engineer specializing in Machine Learning and AI on the Data Engineering team, you will drive product innovation by leveraging advanced AI/ML techniques. You’ll design, develop, and optimize intelligent solutions that power everything from personalized experiences to advanced data-driven insights. Your expertise will be crucial in creating scalable, flexible AI systems that integrate seamlessly into our applications, unlocking the full potential of data to enhance the product experience and drive innovation.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  •  Design, implement, and deploy AI/ML solutions that power personalized recommendations, reporting insights, and other innovative product features, ensuring scalability, performance, and continuous evolution.

  • Develop advanced analytics tools to analyze and visualize customer behavior and key metrics, enabling data-driven decision-making and enhancing reporting accuracy.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and deliver end-to-end AI solutions, ensuring smooth integration of AI into products and services.

  • Prototype, implement, and maintain team projects and features

  • Build flexible and maintainable solutions while being accountable for quality, performance, and reliability

  • Use AI tools as a part of your fundamental workflows

  • Elevate the team’s skills and knowledge by participating in technical designs and talks and reviewing and helping improve your and your colleague’s code

  • Contribute to constantly improving the team’s processes and best practices

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  •  4+ years of experience building and deploying large-scale AI/ML solutions as part of an agile engineering team, with a focus on personalization, predictive modeling, and automated decision-making.

  • Strong experience in data engineering, including building and maintaining data pipelines, integrating data for model training, and deploying models on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Databricks).

  • Proficiency with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face) and familiarity with OpenAI and open-source LLMs (e.g., GPT, BERT).

  • Expertise in machine learning techniques such as unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, and deep learning, along with a strong ability to optimize AI models for scalability and efficiency in production environments.

  • Proficiency in Python, JavaScript (Node.js), SQL, and machine learning libraries like NumPy, Pandas, and R.

  • Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL) for large-scale data processing.

  • A passion for utilizing AI-driven solutions to solve complex problems and enhance user experiences.

  • Experience learning new technologies, platforms, stacks, and coming up to speed quickly on large codebases

  • Proven experience planning technical projects and delivering new systems and features iteratively, with a focus on delivering value to customers quickly

  • Emotional intelligence with collaboration and listening skills that encourage innovative solutions and diverse perspectives

  • Experience working in a rapid-growth or startup environment

  • Strong experience in data engineering, including building and maintaining data pipelines, integrating data for model training, and deploying models on cloud-based platforms.
