About the position The Digital and Social Media Marketing Specialist at Tarrant County Public Health is responsible for managing the department's social media presence. This role involves creating and curating content, engaging with the community, and collaborating with other professionals to effectively promote public health initiatives. The position is grant-funded and requires a proactive approach to enhance the department's visibility and impact through digital channels. Responsibilities • Generate, edit, publish, and share daily content that builds meaningful connections and encourages community engagement. , • Set up and optimize department pages on social media platforms to increase visibility. , • Moderate user-generated content according to community guidelines. , • Create editorial calendars and syndication schedules for content distribution. , • Analyze social media metrics and insights to continuously improve strategies. , • Plan and coordinate public information functions to meet project deadlines. , • Collaborate with team members to establish workflows for social media and digital campaigns. , • Assist with video and image capture and editing to support strategic goals. , • Coordinate promotional materials for various media outlets to ensure effective dissemination. , • Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, communications, advertising, creative writing, or a related field. , • Two years of professional-level work experience in marketing, communications, or public relations, specifically in social media development. , • Current and valid driver license, with a Texas driver license required for the position. , • Experience in developing and managing public relations and publicity campaigns. , • Excellent consulting, writing, editing, presentation, and communication skills. , • Demonstrable experience with social networking and knowledge of social analytics tools. , • Adequate knowledge of web design and development. , • Understanding of online marketing and major marketing channels. , • Positive attitude with strong multi-tasking and organizational skills. , • Ability to evaluate public information materials for specific project assignments. Nice-to-haves • Experience with video editing software. , • Knowledge of public health communication strategies. , • Familiarity with graphic design tools.
