Part Time Teller I

About the position The Part Time Teller I position at First United Bank is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by conducting various banking transactions and assisting customers with their banking needs. This role involves promoting and selling bank products, handling deposits and withdrawals, and ensuring compliance with banking regulations. The teller will also balance their cash drawer and participate in team meetings to enhance service delivery. Responsibilities • Explains, promotes, and sells bank products and services such as traveler's checks and savings bonds. , • Receives checking and savings deposits, verifies cash and endorsements, and issues receipts. , • Examines checks deposited and determines proper funds availability based on regulations. , • Cashes checks and processes savings withdrawals after verifying signatures and balances. , • Answers basic customer inquiries regarding service charges and account histories. , • Accepts loan payments and issues receipts after verifying payment amounts. , • Buys and sells currency from the vault while adhering to cash limits. , • Receives FICA payments and verifies deposit coupons are properly completed. , • Balances drawer daily and counts cash in automated teller machines and night depository. , • Handles customer complaints and escalates issues to supervisor as needed. Requirements • High school diploma or GED required. , • Cash handling, sales, or customer service experience preferred. , • Prior teller experience preferred. , • Basic mathematical skills. , • Exceptional customer service skills. , • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills. , • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure. , • Ability to communicate effectively with customers.
