[Remote] Project Manager - Fire & Life Safety

The Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of turnkey fire and life safety projects, ensuring they are executed on time, within budget, and to specification while serving as the primary customer interface.

Responsibilities

  • Own project execution from sales handoff through commissioning, closeout, and warranty for assigned IFP projects
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, resource plans, and budgets; identify and manage critical-path activities
  • Coordinate with engineering, design, and estimating to validate scope, drawings, submittals, and equipment selections prior to release
  • Drive procurement timelines, manage long-lead items, and ensure material readiness aligns with site schedules
  • Partner with the Technical Field Operations Manager and field leadership to align staffing, scheduling, and commissioning activities
  • Manage subcontractor scopes, contracts, and performance; ensure quality and safety expectations are met on every site
  • Conduct project kickoff, progress, and closeout meetings with internal teams, customers, and partners
  • Resolve site-level issues, RFIs, change orders, and design clarifications in coordination with engineering and field teams
  • Track project financial performance against budget; manage change orders, billings, and revenue recognition milestones
  • Forecast labor, materials, and subcontractor spend; flag risks and corrective actions early
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and closeout packages
  • Serve as the primary customer point of contact during execution; manage expectations and communications across project lifecycle
  • Lead acceptance testing, commissioning handoff, and closeout deliverables in partnership with field operations
  • Support continuous improvement of project management tools, templates, and workflows across the business

Skills

  • 5+ years of project management experience in fire protection, fire alarm, special-hazards, MEP, or related construction/industrial sectors
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with full P&L accountability
  • Strong working knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, change order management, and contract administration
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, submittals, and RFIs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable leading meetings with customers, contractors, and internal teams
  • Proficiency with project management tools and software (scheduling, cost tracking, document control)
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record; willingness to travel to project sites as needed, up to 40% of the time
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug screen
  • PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification
  • Experience managing special-hazards or clean-agent fire suppression projects (FK-5-1-12, inert gas, water mist, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 2001, NFPA 72, NFPA 25, NFPA 750, NFPA 770, and related codes
  • Experience working in Procor
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related technical field
  • Experience working with aviation, data center, energy storage, or industrial customers
