Freelance SEO Specialist

The Opportunity Leading creative agency is looking for a Freelance SEO & AEO Specialist to become a core part of our extended team. This is not a traditional SEO role. The search landscape has shifted, AI Overviews, answer engines, and community platforms like Reddit are now as important as blue-link rankings and we need someone who is operating at that frontier. You'll work across active client engagements in luxury, beauty, skincare, and hospitality, as well as internal initiatives. The work spans strategy, auditing, and ongoing advisory, you'll need to be as comfortable presenting findings to a client as you are digging into Search Console data.

What You'll Do

Technical SEO & Auditing

• Conduct comprehensive technical SEO audits covering crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, site architecture, internal linking, and on-page optimization across key page types (homepages, PDPs, collection pages, blogs)
• Perform keyword gap analyses, competitive audits, and content performance reviews using GSC and crawl data
• Surface and prioritize issues with clear, actionable recommendations, our clients' dev and content teams handle implementation; you provide the specifics on what to change, where, and why

AEO / AI Visibility

• Analyze how brands appear across AI-generated search results and answer engines including ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Claude, and Gemini
• Assess entity recognition, brand citability, and the content signals that influence whether AI platforms reference and recommend a brand
• Identify where competitors are appearing in AI answers and develop strategies to close those gaps

Reputation & Community Search

• Monitor and analyze brand sentiment and representation across the web, including Reddit and relevant community platforms
• Assess how brands appear on retail partner platforms and identify gaps, keyword ranking opportunities, and brand dilution risks through unauthorized resellers
• Provide strategic guidance on where brands should have a stronger voice including sample language and engagement direction for client teams

Ongoing Advisory & Reporting

• Deliver monthly SEO/AEO insight reports with actionable content and optimization recommendations tied to real GSC data
• Conduct monthly review calls with internal TCG teams and clients to walk through findings and next steps
• Develop prioritized roadmaps that categorize recommendations by effort, impact, and resource type (development, content, marketing, PR)

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in SEO strategy and execution in a freelance, agency, or multi-client context
• Genuine fluency in AEO and AI search visibility: You understand how answer engines work and how to influence them, not just traditional SERP rankings
• Strong command of technical SEO: crawl analysis, Core Web Vitals, site architecture, schema, and indexation
• Experience conducting keyword research, gap analyses, and competitive audits in brand-sensitive verticals
• Proficiency with Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs or SEMrush, and Screaming Frog (or equivalent)
• Ability to translate complex findings into clear, prioritized recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences, you'll be presenting to brand teams and agency leads
• A self-starter who communicates proactively, manages timelines independently, and doesn't need hand-holding
• Experience with luxury, beauty, skincare, or hospitality brands is a strong plus
