Nexus IT Group is a technology-focused company seeking a Lead AI Solutions Engineer to spearhead the design and implementation of AI-powered applications and solutions. The role involves leading technical initiatives, mentoring teams, and ensuring solutions adhere to enterprise standards for performance and security.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, testing, and implementation of AI-powered applications, integrations, accelerators, and reusable solution components
  • Translate business requirements and technical challenges into scalable solution architectures and working software
  • Build solutions that support: Intelligent automation, Knowledge management and retrieval, Document processing, Decision support, Workflow optimization, Classification and triage, Productivity enhancement
  • Create reusable patterns, frameworks, and implementation approaches that accelerate future AI initiatives
  • Ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for performance, scalability, security, and maintainability
  • Design and implement solutions leveraging modern AI technologies, including: Large language models (LLMs), Foundation models, Retrieval-based architectures, Semantic search, Knowledge retrieval systems, AI orchestration frameworks
  • Build intelligent workflows that integrate AI capabilities with enterprise systems and business processes
  • Develop approaches for: Prompt engineering, Context management, Workflow orchestration, Tool integration, Human oversight and review, Monitoring and evaluation
  • Establish methods for measuring solution quality, effectiveness, performance, cost efficiency, and business impact
  • Contribute reusable patterns and best practices that support broader AI adoption across the organization
  • Develop solutions that improve: Software development productivity, Code quality, Testing and quality assurance, Documentation generation, Release readiness, Technical knowledge sharing
  • Build automation that streamlines engineering and operational workflows
  • Partner with infrastructure and operations teams to implement AI-enabled capabilities for: Monitoring and observability, Incident analysis, Root cause investigation, Operational automation, Service management, Knowledge management
  • Create reusable templates, integrations, scripts, and implementation guides that help teams adopt AI-enabled workflows
  • Integrate AI capabilities with enterprise applications, APIs, data platforms, cloud services, collaboration tools, and workflow systems
  • Apply secure software engineering practices throughout the solution lifecycle
  • Collaborate with security, architecture, data, and governance teams to ensure solutions meet organizational standards
  • Establish appropriate controls for: Data protection, Identity and access management, Monitoring and logging, Testing and validation, Operational support
  • Prepare solutions for production through performance testing, observability, documentation, deployment planning, and operational readiness reviews
  • Proactively identify technical risks, dependencies, scalability concerns, and support requirements
  • Provide technical leadership for high-priority AI initiatives and complex engineering efforts
  • Mentor engineers on architecture, coding standards, AI solution design, testing, and production readiness
  • Participate in architecture reviews, design sessions, code reviews, and technical decision-making
  • Develop technical documentation, implementation guides, reusable examples, and best practices
  • Help establish engineering standards and promote adoption of modern AI development techniques
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement

Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud engineering, platform development, integration engineering, automation, data engineering, or related technical disciplines
  • 5+ years of experience working with AI, machine learning, intelligent automation, advanced analytics, or emerging technologies
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering production-grade applications, integrations, automation frameworks, or enterprise platforms
  • Strong hands-on experience with generative AI technologies
  • Strong hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs)
  • Strong hands-on experience with prompt engineering
  • Strong hands-on experience with retrieval-based AI architectures
  • Strong hands-on experience with semantic search technologies
  • Strong hands-on experience with AI workflow orchestration
  • Strong hands-on experience with knowledge retrieval systems
  • Experience building intelligent applications that integrate with enterprise systems and workflows
  • Strong software engineering background with experience in APIs and integration frameworks
  • Strong software engineering background with experience in microservices architecture
  • Strong software engineering background with experience in cloud platforms
  • Strong software engineering background with experience in CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong software engineering background with experience in DevSecOps practices
  • Strong software engineering background with experience in test automation
  • Strong software engineering background with experience in monitoring and observability
  • Strong software engineering background with experience in security and identity management
  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, C#, or similar technologies
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field required
  • Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineering teams preferred
  • Experience implementing enterprise AI platforms and AI-powered productivity solutions
  • Experience supporting highly regulated or security-conscious environments
  • Experience building reusable engineering frameworks, accelerators, or developer productivity tools
  • Familiarity with emerging AI orchestration, agent frameworks, and enterprise AI integration patterns
  • Advanced degree preferred
