[Remote] Clinical Research Billing Specialst (Corporate)

DermCare Management is seeking a Clinical Research Billing Specialist who will report to the VP of Research and VP of Revenue Cycle Management. This role is critical for ensuring accurate and compliant billing for clinical trials, requiring collaboration with various stakeholders to maintain financial integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Review clinical trial protocols, contracts, and budgets to establish accurate billing plans
  • Ensure all study procedures are billed correctly to the appropriate payer in compliance with coverage analysis
  • Generate and submit invoices to sponsors according to contract terms and billing schedules
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments
  • Collaborate with Contract Specialists and study teams to interpret clinical trial budgets and payment terms
  • Ensure accurate setup of study budgets within internal systems
  • Track study revenue against budget to identify discrepancies
  • Ensure billing practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation supporting all billing activities
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Reconcile payments received against study milestones and invoiced amounts
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies
  • Prepare financial reports related to study performance
  • Serve as a point of contact for billing-related inquiries
  • Provide regular updates on billing status and collections
  • Collaborate with research coordinators, finance, and leadership

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, healthcare administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in billing, finance, or accounting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial systems
  • Familiarity with clinical trial processes
  • Understanding of clinical research billing compliance
  • Knowledge of budgeting, invoicing, and financial reconciliation
