[Remote] AVP, Financial Reporting
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Fortitude Re is one of the world’s leading providers of legacy reinsurance solutions, focused on helping insurance companies manage complex legacy liabilities. The AVP, Financial Reporting will oversee US GAAP financial reporting processes, manage group consolidations, and act as a liaison with auditors while ensuring compliance with internal controls and financial standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and prepare group consolidations in support of quarter- and year-end close
- Support the US GAAP external and internal reporting process including the preparation of annual US GAAP financial statements, management discussion and analysis, and any presentation for internal and external parties including but not limited to the Disclosure Committee, Audit Committee, Board, Investors, Banks, as well as Rating Agencies
- Prepare the financial reporting requirements for any Debt Issuance
- Ensure all controls and government processes in accordance with company and industry standards are being followed and accurately recorded
- Assist with the maintenance and on-going development of the internal control framework as it relates to financial and statutory reporting
- Participate in process improvement and other ad hoc projects as required
- Act as a key liaison with internal and external auditors on work related to financial reporting
- Significant interaction and coordination with the actuarial, investments and tax teams
Skills
- University degree in accounting or finance
- Internationally recognized accounting designation (CPA) and a minimum of 7 years of relevant post-qualification experience within insurance
- Previous experience in financial reporting is required
- Working knowledge of US GAAP reporting standards. If role supports Group Controllership, working knowledge of US Statutory and Bermuda Statutory (SFS) reporting standards also applies

- Proven ability to work independently
