[Remote] Electrical Engineer Expert – Data Centers

They are seeking an Electrical Technical Expert to join their Data Center team, where the role involves leading the design of electrical systems for hyperscale and mission-critical facilities, ensuring technical excellence and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical authority for electrical systems on hyperscale and mission‑critical data center projects
  • Shape and influence medium and low-voltage power distribution strategies, including campus distribution, switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, UPS systems, PDUs, RPPs, STS, and emergency power systems
  • Develop and guide electrical system architectures that support reliability, scalability, maintainability, and uptime requirements
  • Establish and support electrical design standards, basis of design narratives, and best practices across the data center practice
  • Lead and perform technical QA/QC reviews, ensuring designs meet the highest standards for constructability, performance, and code compliance (NEC, NFPA, IEEE)
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to align technical solutions with operational goals and redundancy strategies (N, N+1, 2N)
  • Support commissioning and field efforts by resolving complex technical challenges and system interactions
  • Mentor and develop engineers, elevating technical capability across teams through guidance, review, and knowledge sharing
  • Stay at the forefront of emerging data center technologies, power distribution trends, and mission‑critical design innovations

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 12+ years of electrical engineering experience, with a strong emphasis on data center or mission critical facility design
  • Demonstrated expertise in medium- and low-voltage systems within buildings, including redundancy strategies, power quality, and maintainability
  • Proven ability to lead complex technical efforts and serve as a trusted advisor to project teams and clients
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly translate complex technical concepts
  • A passion for technical excellence, mentorship, and continuous improvement
