Role Overview – Senior Voice of Customer Data Engineer (Remote – Costa Rica)

arenaflex is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of our Voice of Customer (VoC) analytics platform. This role sits at the intersection of data architecture, advanced analytics, and product delivery, working closely with product owners, agile development teams, and external partners to ensure that every customer voice is captured, processed, and transformed into reliable insights. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, refine, and translate functional requirements into scalable data solutions.

• Lead the integration of the VoC data lake with arenaflex’s enterprise‑wide analytics ecosystem, ensuring seamless data flow between Qualtrics‑based survey ingestion and downstream reporting tools.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning within the data engineering team.
• Drive performance tuning initiatives, leveraging Spark, PySpark, and Hive optimizations to reduce processing latency and improve throughput.
• Partner with agile product teams to deliver incremental enhancements, adhering to Scrum ceremonies and sprint commitments.
• Document architecture decisions, data lineage, and operational procedures to support knowledge sharing and compliance requirements.
• Stay abreast of emerging big‑data technologies and recommend strategic upgrades that align with arenaxflex’s long‑term data strategy.

Essential Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of hands‑on experience with Hadoop ecosystem tools (Hive, HDFS, MapReduce) and Spark/PySpark.
• Proficiency in Python and shell scripting for data pipeline development and automation.
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing large‑scale data models and warehouse solutions.
• Strong understanding of agile development methodologies and the ability to work effectively in Scrum teams.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills with a track record of delivering high‑quality, production‑ready code.
