The Center Coordinator, Center for Student Success (Administrative Support Coordinator I)

The Center Coordinator for the Center for Student Success plays a crucial role in providing administrative and operational support, ensuring efficient delivery of student services programs and initiatives such as tutoring and orientation.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for in-person, phone, email, and virtual requests; manage high-volume inquiries, workflows, and issue resolution by applying and interpreting university policies, procedures, and systems to support students, faculty, staff, and campus partners
- Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, calendar management, meeting coordination, and supervision of student assistants; manage office logistics such as supply procurement, vendor coordination, inventory tracking, and production of printed and promotional materials
- Administer purchasing and budgeting activities, including purchase card transactions, expense processing, account reconciliation, and financial reporting; maintain accurate records, handle confidential data, and collaborate with internal departments to ensure compliance and operational efficiency
- Manage internal and external communications across multiple platforms; support student engagement initiatives, advising operations, and events; coordinate safety protocols as unit Safety Coordinator while managing multiple projects, deadlines, and cross-functional collaborations
- Coordinate day-to-day tutoring center operations, including session coverage, attendance tracking, tutor scheduling, and identifying high-need courses to enhance student academic success
- Evaluate tutor performance and session effectiveness; support recruitment and training initiatives; and create marketing materials and web content to strengthen program visibility and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with campus leadership and academic advising teams to plan and execute large-scale university events (e.g., orientation, commencement, outreach programs), managing logistics, staffing, and cross-campus partnerships
- Oversee event operations including budgeting, marketing, vendor coordination, and data collection/analysis to support effective programming and continuous improvement
Skills
- Fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices
- Ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures
- Thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing
- Knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic (if required for some positions)
- Ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse populations and work collaboratively
- Highly organized and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information
- Proficient in Microsoft 365/Google Workspace with the ability to quickly learn new systems
- Several years of related office work experience
