[Remote] Finance Clerk
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. City Net Homeless Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing homelessness through supportive services and innovative housing solutions. The Finance Clerk will manage financial data, assist in payroll processing, and ensure compliance with financial regulations while providing administrative support to the finance department.
Responsibilities
- Accurately record financial transactions in the Organization’s accounting system
- Maintain and update financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations
- Compare bank statements with internal records to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in financial records
- Process invoices, verify their accuracy, and ensure timely payments
- Issue and track customer invoices and process incoming payments
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable balances regularly
- Support payroll processing by preparing necessary data and records
- Ensure compliance with tax and employment regulations regarding payroll
- Prepare routine financial reports, including expense summaries and account statements
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and audits
- Manage and organize financial documents for easy retrieval and reference
- Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding financial matters
- Ensure financial operations comply with company policies and legal regulations
- Provide necessary documentation for internal and external audits
- Consistently meet all assigned productivity and outcome goals
- Comply with all contracts, funder requirements, and City Net procedures and policies
- Represent City Net in a professional manner
- Meet or exceed all goals and requirements established for the position
Skills
- Familiarity with basic bookkeeping, financial processes, and regulations
- Confident and efficient skills in MS 365 Suite (Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, etc.)
- Proficiency with or ability to quickly learn payroll software, Expensify, and similar computer applications
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining creativity and strategic thinking and continuing to meet or exceed goals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Prolonged periods of sitting while working at a computer and performing financial and administrative tasks
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, data entry, and operating office equipment (e.g., computer, calculator, printer)
- Ability to view computer screens for extended periods while reviewing financial data, reports, and records
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching within an office environment
- Ability to lift and carry light materials (e.g., files, documents, office supplies) up to 25 pounds
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in verbal and written formats with internal staff and external stakeholders
- Ability to maintain focus, accuracy, and attention to detail for extended periods while working with financial data
- Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation
