Staff Accountant
Performance Trust Capital Partners is an investment bank headquartered in Chicago that focuses on long-term impact and building trust with financial institutions. They are seeking a Staff Accountant to join their internal finance and accounting team, responsible for various accounting tasks including journal entries, reconciliations, and assisting with audit preparations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure proper internal accounting procedures and processes are executed in a timely manner to support the creation of financial and business line managerial reports
- Assist in the preparation of journal entries by compiling, analyzing, and substantiating financial transactions
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations monthly within the close timeline
- Research, track, and resolve accounting problems
- Assist in month end, quarter end and annual close processes and reporting
- Prepare PBC’s for annual audit
- Act as support/back up for accounts receivable/payable functions
- Respond to financial queries from FP&A and other departments
Skills
- Minimum 1-3 years of bond or fixed-income accounting experience, or related
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting
- Strong IT skills – GL ERP (Oracle preferred), intermediate Excel, etc
- Ability to perform detailed-oriented work, manage multiple competing priorities, problem solve, think critically and work independently
- Candidates must be eligible to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship
- Financial services experience preferred, not required
- Progress towards CPA highly encouraged, not required
