About the Role

Our client, a large, multi-state healthcare network, is seeking a visionary Remote Director of Environmental Hygiene and Safety. This critical leadership role will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive environmental hygiene, infection control, and safety protocols across all network facilities, including hospitals, clinics, and administrative offices. As a fully remote position, you will leverage advanced communication and digital tools to collaborate with facility leadership, infection preventionists, and safety officers, ensuring the highest standards of patient and staff safety. Establish network-wide standards, policies, and procedures for cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, waste management, and pest control. Oversee the implementation and effectiveness of infection control programs to prevent healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). Collaborate closely with clinical leadership, facility managers, and EVS (Environmental Services) teams to ensure best practices are consistently applied. Conduct remote risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and areas of non-compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CDC, OSHA). Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for staff at all levels on hygiene, safety, and infection control protocols. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to hygiene, safety, and infection rates, and report findings to executive leadership. Manage budgets for environmental services and safety programs, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource optimization. Stay abreast of emerging infectious diseases, new technologies, and regulatory changes impacting healthcare environmental hygiene and safety. Lead and support crisis management and emergency preparedness efforts related to environmental safety and public health.

Requirements

Master's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Environmental Science, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare environmental hygiene, infection control, and safety management. Extensive knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS), and public health guidelines (e.g., CDC). Proven track record of developing and implementing successful network-wide safety and infection prevention programs. Exceptional remote leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning capabilities. Experience with data analysis, performance metric development, and reporting. Certified in Infection Control (CIC) or relevant safety certifications (e.g., CSP) are highly desirable. Ability to work independently and manage complex projects in a remote setting.

Benefits

This is a fully remote leadership opportunity offering significant flexibility and impact. Our client offers an executive-level compensation package, including a competitive salary, substantial bonus potential, comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, a generous retirement plan, and extensive paid time off. You will play a vital role in safeguarding the health and well-being of patients and staff across a leading healthcare network. Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
