Position Overview: Remote Customer Service Representative

arenaflex is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Remote Customer Service Representative to join our emergency monitoring team. This critical position serves as the first point of contact during potentially life-threatening situations, requiring exceptional composure, decision-making skills, and customer service excellence.

This is a fully remote position offering the flexibility to work from home while making a real difference in people's lives. Please note that all initial classroom training and hands-on job training will be conducted onsite at our Manasquan, New Jersey facility (2210 Landmark Place, Manasquan NJ 08736). The role requires shift work, including weekends, holidays, and occasional mandatory overtime, as emergency monitoring operates 24/7 to ensure constant protection for our customers.

As a Remote Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you'll be the vital link between our monitoring systems and emergency responders, playing a crucial role in our life-saving mission. Your work directly contributes to the safety and security of families, businesses, and communities across the nation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify, respond to, and dispatch emergency signals including fire, intrusion, and other critical alerts to appropriate authorities
  • Maintain constant vigilance and professional composure when handling high-stress emergency situations
  • Answer incoming calls from customers, monitoring systems, and external agencies with efficiency and professionalism
  • Follow standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for different types of signals and emergency scenarios
  • Notify customers regarding non-emergency signals and system status updates
  • Coordinate with emergency responders including police, fire departments, and medical services during critical situations
  • Process routine data changes and account updates for customer profiles
  • Manage signals from multiple locations and specialized communication channels including TTY stations for customers with hearing disabilities
  • Meet or exceed productivity standards while maintaining exceptional quality assurance scores (90% or better)
  • Stay current on company policies, industry regulations, and technological advancements in security monitoring
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance emergency response capabilities
  • Adapt to changing protocols, technologies, and customer needs in the dynamic security industry

Qualifications & Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
  • One to three months of related customer service, call center, or emergency services experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required licensing for all states with mandatory requirements
  • Proficient in verification and dispatch procedures for emergency situations
  • Working knowledge of different alarm signals and appropriate response protocols
  • Basic computer literacy with familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and internet navigation
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong decision-making abilities with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with team members
  • High level of organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Professional attitude with commitment to providing exceptional customer service

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in emergency services, security monitoring, or crisis management
  • Familiarity with home security systems, smart home technology, or alarm monitoring equipment
  • Experience working in a remote or home-based customer service environment
  • Bilingual language skills (particularly Spanish) to better serve diverse customer populations
  • Experience with CRM systems and customer account management software
  • Knowledge of local emergency services and community resources

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position offers the unique advantage of remote work, allowing you to serve arenaflex customers from the comfort of your home office. However, initial training will require on-site attendance at our Manasquan, New Jersey facility. The remote work environment should be a quiet, dedicated space suitable for handling emergency communications without interruptions.

Physical requirements include the ability to remain seated for extended periods, use hands for keyboard operation and telecommunications equipment, and maintain visual focus on computer screens and monitoring systems. The role occasionally requires light lifting (up to 25 pounds) during equipment setup or maintenance. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

The work environment typically presents moderate noise levels similar to a standard office setting. While performing duties, employees may occasionally be exposed to electrical shock hazards related to electronic equipment.
