Why This Role Matters

The Customer Engagement Manager II – Direct Channel Strategy & Activation (often referred to as DCS&A) sits at the heart of arenaflex’s mission to deliver personalized, data‑driven experiences across every guest touchpoint. In this role you will shape the way our guests interact with arenaflex through social media, email, mobile, and emerging direct‑channel platforms. Your strategic vision and hands‑on execution will directly influence guest satisfaction, brand loyalty, and revenue growth.

Role Overview

As a senior member of the DCS&A team, you will be responsible for the end‑to‑end management of direct‑channel campaigns. You will act as the subject‑matter expert on the tools, data, and processes that power our multi‑channel activation engine. Working closely with cross‑functional partners—including marketing, product, analytics, and technology—you will design, launch, and optimize campaigns that speak to guests in a timely, relevant, and magical way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Campaign Ownership: Lead the daily operations and execution of direct‑channel campaigns across social, email, SMS, push notifications, and in‑app messaging.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with business stakeholders to define campaign objectives, target audiences, and success metrics.
  • Data‑Driven Execution: Build and maintain complex data pipelines using SQL, ensuring accurate segmentation, personalization, and reporting.
  • Creative Integration: Work with the creative team to translate data insights into compelling storytelling that resonates with diverse guest segments.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous QA testing of campaign assets (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to guarantee flawless delivery and compliance with brand standards.
  • Performance Optimization: Analyze campaign performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement iterative enhancements.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Produce clear documentation of processes, best practices, and learnings to support onboarding and continuous improvement.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, analytics, and technology teams to align campaign execution with broader business initiatives.
  • Innovation Projects: Lead or contribute to special projects that explore new channels, technologies, or methodologies.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience writing complex SQL queries, performing joins, and troubleshooting data quality issues.
  • At least 5 years of direct experience managing end‑to‑end campaign lifecycles, from strategy through execution and analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical data insights into clear, actionable narratives for non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and data‑warehouse concepts.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Campaign Classic and Adobe Campaign Standard, or comparable marketing automation platforms.
  • Experience building multi‑channel marketing flows that integrate email, SMS, push, and in‑app messaging.
  • Solid foundation in front‑end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for campaign asset development and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills, with a proven track record of collaborating across matrixed organizations.
  • Detail‑oriented mindset with a strong focus on data integrity, testing, and quality assurance.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS) in Marketing, Data Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with cloud‑based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery) and ETL tools.
  • Familiarity with machine‑learning concepts for predictive segmentation and personalization.
  • Knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations governing direct‑channel communications.
  • Project management certification (PMP, Agile Scrum) or demonstrated agile project delivery experience.
  • Passion for entertainment, hospitality, or consumer‑facing brands, with an understanding of guest‑centric storytelling.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect large data sets, uncover patterns, and translate findings into strategic actions.
  • Strategic Vision: Forward‑thinking mindset that anticipates market trends and aligns campaigns with long‑term business goals.
  • Collaboration: Skilled at building relationships across diverse teams and influencing without direct authority.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable thriving in a fast‑paced environment where priorities shift quickly.
  • Customer Obsession: Deep empathy for the guest experience and a relentless drive to exceed expectations.
  • Technical Fluency: Comfortable navigating marketing technology stacks, data platforms, and front‑end development tools.
