Position Overview

arenaflex is currently seeking dedicated, compassionate, and highly organized professionals to join our team as Remote Pharmacy Data Entry and Customer Service Specialists. This full-time, work-from-home opportunity offers a competitive hourly rate of $27 to $35, with comprehensive benefits and genuine opportunities for professional growth. In this role, you will play a critical part in the patient care continuum by accurately processing prescription information, enrolling patients in specialized programs, resolving insurance discrepancies, and providing exceptional customer service to patients, prescribers, and insurance providers. Key Responsibilities

Patient Enrollment and Data Management

  • Execute patient enrollment processes using proprietary data entry methodologies and established guidelines, ensuring all information is captured accurately within appropriate pharmacy systems
  • Process new patient registrations, verify demographic and insurance information, and maintain comprehensive electronic health records
  • Enter medication refill requests while strictly adhering to HIPAA regulations and patient privacy requirements
  • Investigate and resolve missing prescription information by contacting healthcare providers and utilizing available resources
  • Interpret and accurately transcribe medical abbreviations, including SIG codes, prescription directions, and clinical terminology
  • Resolve all data entry-related exceptions and discrepancies, escalating complex issues to senior team members when appropriate

Customer Communication and Support

  • Handle high-volume patient communications through multiple channels, including inbound phone calls, live chat interactions, and email correspondence
  • Make outbound calls to prescribers, patients, and insurance representatives as needed to clarify information, obtain approvals, and resolve outstanding issues
  • Provide courteous, professional, and empathetic service that reflects arenaflex’s commitment to patient-centered care
  • Document all customer interactions thoroughly within the customer relationship management system

Third-Party Resolution and Insurance Coordination

  • Investigate and resolve third-party rejections by reviewing claims, gathering supporting documentation, making necessary corrections, and resubmitting for processing
  • Contact insurance companies, pharmacy benefit managers, and guarantors by phone to obtain missing information, secure override approvals, and resolve billing discrepancies
  • Navigate multiple payer systems and understand various insurance plan requirements to facilitate timely prescription processing
  • Maintain detailed records of all resolution attempts and outcomes for quality assurance and audit purposes

Pharmacist Support and Team Collaboration

  • Provide administrative and operational support to pharmacists, both in-office and at remote locations
  • Identify and communicate operational issues, patterns, or concerns to senior-level staff and management
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain open lines of communication with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless workflow

Compliance and Professional Development

  • Obtain and maintain an active pharmacy technician license or certification within the first 90 days of employment, as required by state regulations
  • Adhere strictly to all organizational policies, standard operating procedures, and regulatory requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent required
  • Basic Computer Skills: Demonstrated ability to start up and shut down computers, use mouse functions including pointing and clicking, launch and close programs, switch between applications, save files, print reports, and access information via the internet
  • Web Navigation Skills: Proficiency in opening browsers, entering URLs accurately, using search engines, bookmarking websites, navigating using back, forward, and stop buttons, and completing online forms
  • Keyboarding Skills: Intermediate-level typing ability with a minimum of 25 words per minute, demonstrated ability to type by memory, and basic document formatting capabilities
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities with capacity to convey complex information clearly and professionally
  • Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail pharmacy or call center environment
  • At least 18 months of experience as a pharmacy technician with active state certification or registration granted by a state Board of Pharmacy or nationally recognized certification organization
  • Prior experience providing customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, with demonstrated ability to meet quality standards and contribute to customer satisfaction evaluation processes
  • Advanced keyboarding skills with typing speed of 35 words per minute or higher, including typing by memory and advanced document formatting
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English, strongly preferred to better serve our diverse patient population
