Key Responsibilities

As the Tech Lead Software Engineer, you will be a hands-on technical leader who invests in the future of arenaflex's engineering family. Your work will directly support the Data Science Common Platform and the Data Science Models that operate on the platform. You will lead, inspire, and grow a team of engineers responsible for the design, delivery, and operation of highly reliable software. In addition, you will serve as a critical interface between the development team and senior management, ensuring that capacity, skill sets, and delivery expectations are continuously aligned.

• Development Estimation and Planning: Provide accurate development estimates in support of feasibility assessments and planned improvement activities, helping the team set realistic commitments and deliver on them consistently.
• Application Architecture: Create, maintain, review, and approve application architectures in collaboration with Solution Architects and shared services teams, ensuring alignment with appropriate design frameworks and balancing tradeoffs thoughtfully.
• High-Quality Software Development: Develop, maintain, and review software with a relentless focus on quality, reusability, and long-term maintainability.
• Automated Testing Excellence: Develop, maintain, review, and execute unit, functional, and integration tests with an emphasis on automation and test-driven development (TDD) principles.
• Performance and Non-Functional Oversight: Provide technical oversight for performance testing initiatives, ensuring that design decisions and observed results align with expected non-functional requirements such as scalability, latency, and reliability.
• Deployment Leadership: Plan and oversee application deployment activities and sequencing across non-production and production environments, ensuring smooth rollouts and zero-downtime operations where possible.
• Technology Exploration: Continuously investigate and prototype new technologies, frameworks, and tools that could enhance arenaflex's applications and accelerate development activities.
• Technical Debt Management: Identify and address technical debt as appropriate, carefully weighing the development effort required against the long-term value returned.
• Mentorship and Coaching: Guide and mentor the development team on architecture, design patterns, coding standards, development best practices, and operational excellence.
