Join us and be part of a team that turns data into actionable intelligence, drives strategic risk mitigation, and fuels continuous improvement across the enterprise.

Position Overview

arenaflex is seeking a Senior Internal Audit Data Analyst to lead the automation and analytics of our internal audit risk‑based testing (RBT) and SOX compliance programs. This role blends advanced data‑engineering, statistical analysis, and robotic process automation (RPA) to transform manual audit procedures into scalable, intelligent solutions. You will partner directly with the Internal Audit Partner and the Head of Audit & Automation, delivering dashboards, predictive models, and automated workflows that enable the audit team to focus on high‑impact insights rather than repetitive data collection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Automation Strategy & Execution: Identify, design, and implement automation opportunities using RPA (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere) and advanced process automation (APA) to streamline manual audit tasks.
  • Data Extraction & Transformation: Build robust ETL pipelines in SQL, Python, or KNIME to ingest, cleanse, and enrich large audit data sets from ERP, CRM, and other enterprise systems.
  • Dashboard & Reporting Development: Create interactive visualizations in Tableau, Power BI, and Looker that provide real‑time risk insights, audit coverage metrics, and exception tracking for senior leadership.
  • Predictive & Anomaly Detection Modeling: Apply machine‑learning techniques (regression, time‑series analysis, clustering) to detect fraud, control breakdowns, and emerging risks before they materialize.
  • Collaboration with Cross‑Functional Teams: Work closely with business process owners, IT, and data engineering to understand data lineage, define risk criteria, and ensure audit findings are actionable.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Maintain comprehensive documentation of automation scripts, data models, and analytical methodologies; mentor junior analysts on best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Conduct regular reviews of audit data quality, recommend enhancements, and drive a culture of data‑centric decision making across the audit function.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Translate complex analytical results into clear, business‑focused narratives for audit committees, senior executives, and external auditors.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Minimum 3 + years of hands‑on experience in data analysis, data science, or internal audit analytics.
  • Proven expertise in SQL with a deep understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and ETL processes.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, or SAS for statistical analysis and predictive modeling.
  • Demonstrated experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker, and familiarity with data‑visualization best practices.
  • Hands‑on experience automating manual processes using RPA platforms (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism) and/or APA frameworks.
  • Solid grasp of statistical methods including regression, forecasting, clustering, and anomaly detection, and the ability to apply them to audit‑related problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for turning technical findings into compelling business stories.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Data Science, Analytics, or a related field.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery) and modern data‑warehouse architectures.
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance frameworks and risk‑based testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML libraries (scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and their application to fraud detection.
  • Certification in RPA (UiPath Certified Professional, Automation Anywhere Advanced RPA) or related automation credentials.
  • Track record of delivering end‑to‑end automation projects that resulted in measurable efficiency gains (e.g., 30 % reduction in manual audit hours).

Core Competencies for Success

  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to dissect complex data sets, identify patterns, and draw actionable conclusions.
  • Problem‑Solving Agility: Thrive in a fast‑changing environment, quickly learning new tools and technologies.
  • Collaboration & Influence: Build strong relationships across functional teams and influence decision‑makers with data‑driven insights.
  • Detail Orientation: Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with audit standards.
  • Self‑Starter Attitude: Proactively seek out opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

At arenaflex, your professional development is a priority. As a Senior Internal Audit Data Analyst you will:

  • Gain exposure to enterprise‑wide risk management and compliance initiatives.
  • Lead high‑visibility automation projects that directly impact the company’s bottom line.
  • Access a robust learning platform offering courses in advanced analytics, AI, cloud engineering, and RPA.
  • Participate in mentorship programs, internal hackathons, and cross‑departmental innovation labs.
  • Prepare for future leadership roles such as Audit Automation Manager, Data Governance Lead, or Director of Risk Analytics.
