Role Overview – Hitch Service Technician

The Hitch Service Technician is the frontline expert who ensures every customer’s vehicle is equipped with the correct towing solution safely and efficiently. You will combine hands‑on mechanical skill with exceptional customer service, acting as both a technical specialist and a trusted advisor. This role is essential to maintaining arenaflex’s reputation for reliability and safety.

Core Responsibilities

  • Diagnose customer towing needs and recommend the appropriate hitch package.
  • Install, adjust, and test a variety of hitch systems on passenger cars, trucks, and SUVs.
  • Provide clear, courteous explanations of installation procedures and safety guidelines to customers.
  • Maintain accurate service records in arenaflex’s digital workflow system.
  • Collaborate with the parts department to ensure inventory availability and timely replenishment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks, goggles, gloves, and safety shields.
  • Participate in continuous learning through arenaflex College, staying current on new hitch technologies and industry standards.
  • Assist with occasional on‑site customer support at arenaflex rental locations or remote service calls as needed.
  • Perform routine shop maintenance, including tool calibration, equipment cleaning, and workspace organization.
  • Support additional duties assigned by the Service Manager, such as inventory audits or special project initiatives.

Essential Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or vocational training in automotive mechanics preferred.
  • Proven experience with hand tools, power tools, and basic electrical wiring.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver objects up to 50 lb, both independently and with assistance.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work methodically under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; comfort explaining technical concepts to non‑technical customers.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to OSHA‑style guidelines.
