FP&A Analyst — Project-Based | Fractional CFO Practice

• *FP&A Analyst — Project-Based | Fractional CFO Practice I run an FP&A as a Service practice working with private equity-backed companies in industrials, construction, and value-add services. As I take on new clients I need a reliable analyst I can bring in on a project basis to support modeling, reporting, and analysis work. This is not a one-time project. If the work is good and the communication is strong, this becomes an ongoing relationship with regular project flow.

• *What the work looks like Projects will vary but typically include cash flow forecasting models, monthly variance analysis, budget builds, job and project margin reporting, and KPI dashboards. Deliverables are usually in Excel and Powerpoint. Turnaround expectations are tight — this is a fast-moving advisory environment.
• *What I'm looking for — 5+ years of FP&A or financial reporting experience — Strong Excel modeling skills — build clean, structured models from scratch — Experience with variance analysis, budgeting, and management reporting — Clear written communication — you can summarize what the numbers are saying, not just present them — Reliable, responsive, and able to work with minimal hand-holding
• *Nice to have — Background in construction, industrials, or field service businesses — Experience supporting PE-backed companies or working in an advisory environment — Familiarity with AI tools to accelerate analysis and reporting
• *Location Americas preferred
• *Engagement Project-based to start. Strong performers will get consistent work.
