Software Development Engineer - Contractor Application Deadline: 30 June 2026 Department: Engineering Employment Type: Contract / Temp Location: Manila Reporting To: Paolo Bati Description Gappify looking for a Software Engineer who will focus on engineering support, operational requests, and production issue resolution. This role blends backend development expertise with strong operational discipline, requiring someone who is comfortable working across environments, investigating system behavior, and ensuring smooth execution of changes across QA, UAT, staging, and production systems. You will collaborate closely with Customer Success, Professional Services, QA, Product, and Engineering teams to support critical business operations, resolve issues, and maintain system stability. Work Arrangement: Remote, 20 hours min / 30 hours max per week; Monday to Friday, 9pm to 6am (can be broken schedule within this window) What You Will Do: Execute database updates, data fixes, scripts, and configuration changes across QA, UAT, Staging, and Production environments Investigate application behavior, system issues, and data discrepancies raised by internal teams Support production troubleshooting, log analysis, and deployment activities Perform root cause analysis and coordinate fixes for recurring issues Maintain documentation for scripts, processes, and operational changes Support release activities, monitoring, and post-deployment validation Handle urgent operational and business-critical requests as needed What You Will Bring to the Team: 3–5 years software development experience Strong experience in PHP, with working knowledge of Java Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases Experience with APIs, backend services, and system integrations Comfortable troubleshooting production or environment issues Experience with Git and version control systems Strong communication and documentation skills Able to work independently with minimal supervision React or modern frontend experience Cloud and deployment exposure Agile/Scrum experience Familiarity with AI-assisted dev tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor, etc.) Automation or DevOps exposure Apply To This Job
