TalkNY Therapy: Mental Health Counselor-Limited Permit Holders

TalkNY is more than a therapy platform, it’s a community of dedicated professionals working together to make mental health care more accessible across New York. With over 115 therapists on our team, we offer individual, family, couples, and group psychotherapy. We are seeking part/full time (15+ hours weekly preferable) Limited Permit Mental Health Counselors or Psychotherapists that have graduated with a Mental Health Counseling degree to provide therapy services to a diversified patient population using evidence-based therapy approaches.

Responsibilities

The therapist in this position will be responsible for conducting remote mental health therapy children and adults. All direct therapy will be delivered via a virtual platform; therefore the candidate must be comfortable and knowledgeable of teleconferencing applications such as Zoom.

Requirements

This position will work directly with TalkNY clients to provide mental health services/therapy covering a variety of concerns (i.e. anxiety, depression, stress management, grief, relationships, etc…). Key requirements for this position are as follows:

• MHC-LP (or working towards MHC-LP)
• Complete progress notes and updated calendar within 24 hours of time of service.
• Provide initial intake, treatment plans and progress notes.
• Maintain client’s charts and keep complete and correct documentation
• Case management including care coordination, collaborating with referral sources and connecting clients to care.
• Participate weekly in mandatory supervision.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling
• Preferably able to work 15-20-hours weekly
• Certificate of Professional Liability Insurance needed upon hire
• Ability to work independently as well as communicate emergency situations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with various theoretical approaches.
