Remote Educational Interpreter - New York

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter with experience in telehealth services to support educational settings in Brooklyn, NY. This contract position involves providing effective communication access for students and staff requiring sign language interpretation in a school environment. Responsibilities:

• Facilitate clear and accurate sign language interpretation during telehealth sessions and in-person school activities
• Collaborate with educators and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive communication support
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics in all interactions
• Prepare and review materials to enhance communication effectiveness
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development related to sign language interpreting and telehealth practices

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and telehealth technology
• Previous experience interpreting within school settings strongly preferred
