Position: Senior Data Engineer

As a Senior Data Engineer at OpenGov, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing data pipelines and infrastructure that support the company's data-driven products and services. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring the efficient processing, storage, and retrieval of vast amounts of government financial data.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design scalable data solutions.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines to collect, process, and store data from various sources.
• Optimize data storage and retrieval processes to ensure maximum performance and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
• Implement data security and privacy measures to protect sensitive government information.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest data engineering technologies and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Expertise in designing and implementing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
• Hands-on experience with big data technologies, including Hadoop, Spark, or similar.
• Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data storage and processing platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with data modeling and database design principles.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
