Loan Processor
ConnectOne Bank is a high-performing commercial bank focused on putting people first and building opportunities. The Loan Processor is responsible for ordering investigative reports and processing loan applications to support the Bank’s Residential and Consumer Lending efforts, while ensuring compliance with federal regulations and providing excellent service to clients.
Responsibilities
- Support the Bank’s 'People First' focus and rules of engagement—maintaining a professional demeanor, working as an active member of the CNOB team, providing clients excellent service, always striving to make CNOB 'A Better Place to Be'
- Review applications for completeness and investigate applicants’ backgrounds
- Order credit reports (e.g., Experian, property search, appraisal, judgment search or other as deemed necessary) by a lending officer
- Validate client information supplied on the application (e.g., employment and wage history, telephone numbers; send out Verification of Employment (VOE), Verification of Rent or Mortgage (VOM), Verification of Deposit (VOD)
- Provide applicants with proper disclosures to ensure compliance with federal regulations
- Assist in preparing loan closing documents; forward to assigned branches or attorneys
- Create new loan files
- Handle customer inquiries (phone and written correspondence) as related to their application status
Skills
- Strong “People First” interest and ability
- Knowledge of CNOB products and Residential and Consumer services preferred
- Knowledge of relevant Federal and State banking regulations (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act, Community Reinvestment Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Right to Financial Privacy Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Regulation E and US PATRIOT Act)
- Strong management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail with ability to prioritize in a high-volume environment
- Working knowledge of Google applications and products
- 1+ year of residential loan processing experience
