Senior Analyst (12 month FTC / Secondment)
Operating as a highly experienced analyst in the Analytics Team, you will provide expertise and guidance for the Analytics Team, as well as owning, generating and delivering relevant, accurate and valuable business insights for internal and external PRS for Music customers.
With the ability to demonstrate simple to complex analytical techniques using industry standard tools, you will support the business in making more timely and better-informed business decisions and in achieving their strategic goals. You will also coach the Data Analysts, taking a leadership role in the team as required.
The Analytics team support evidence-based decision making across PRS for Music, as well as helping our members understand trends and factors that influence the use of their works. We develop key reporting, working to utilise the latest technology to enhance our analytical capabilities.
In the role, you’ll be able to draw on a knowledgeable team, working with your colleagues to solve problems in an environment where it’s ok to experiment and bring new ideas to the table in the interest of finding new solutions and raising the standard across the team.
Responsibilities:• Work closely with the Senior Analytics Manager, Head of Data Services Delivery and product owners to implement and guide the delivery of new analytics streams of work, aligned with and in support of the PRS for Music strategic imperatives. • Translate complex data into clear narratives and recommendations for relevant business areas & senior management as appropriate. • Actively collaborate with the wider Data Services team and business stakeholders to explore new business opportunities where advanced analytics methodologies can be implemented. • Coaching and mentoring team members in new technologies, skills and workstreams; shaping the skills of the team to ensure a consistently high standard • Support the Senior Analytics Manager in their data stewardship role to ensure organization-wide data governance activity follows best practice
About you:Required Skills/Experience: • Experience as a data analyst or similar related role • Proficient in using SQL to query, extract, and analyse large and complex datasets from relational databases. • Experience using data visualisation tools such Power BI or similar • Competency in using coding languages such as Python and experience in advanced analytical techniques such as classification, regression and clustering. • Strong stakeholder management with experience in presenting analysis to senior leadership • Ability to communicate data visually, communicating results in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical disciplines. • Ability to coach and mentor data analysts in technical and non-technical skills. • A strategic mindset, with the ability to recognise the relationship between your own work and the objectives of the team and wider business
Desired Skills/Experience: • Educated to degree standard, preferably in numerical subject • Experience of working within an agile delivery framework • Experience of Jira • Experience in a senior, supervisory or management role • Machine learning/AI • Knowledge of PRS for Music, Performance Rights Organisations, and/or the music industry
