Client Overview Our client operates one of the world's largest energy delivery systems, providing electric, gas, and steam service to more than 10 million people in New York City and Westchester County. They are now looking for a GIS Architect - Utilities and Enterprise. Salary/Hourly Rate $90/hr - $95/hr Position Overview The GIS Architect - Utilities and Enterprise will lead the design, modernization, and integration of enterprise GIS platforms supporting utility operations. This is a 6-month contract role for a hands-on architect with deep ESRI expertise, strong utility domain knowledge, and proven experience in geocoding, reverse geocoding, and Utility Network migrations. This role requires working EST hours, and C2C, sponsorship, and OPT submissions are not permitted.

Responsibilities

Of The GIS Architect - Utilities And Enterprise

  • Lead Utility Network and Geometric Network migrations, including data model design and conversion.
  • Design and publish geocoding and reverse geocoding services using ArcGIS Enterprise and REST APIs.
  • Develop and integrate GIS services with external systems (WMS, OMS, WMIS) using REST, .NET, and JavaScript.
  • Oversee ArcGIS Enterprise installations, upgrades, performance tuning, and security.
  • Provide technical leadership across GIS developers, DBAs, and analysts.

Required Experience/Skills for the GIS Architect - Utilities and Enterprise:

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise GIS architecture, preferably in utilities.
  • Expert knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcFM, Utility Network, and ArcSDE.
  • Strong experience with geocoding and reverse geocoding implementations.
  • Proficiency in Python, C#, JavaScript, and ArcGIS REST APIs.
  • Experience with Oracle and SQL Server geodatabases.
  • Proven ability to lead complex GIS modernization and migration initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-facing skills.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the GIS Architect - Utilities and Enterprise:

  • ArcGIS Utility Network SDK experience.
  • Mobile GIS and field operations integration experience.
  • ESRI or utility industry certifications.
