Boiler Operator

The Boiler Operator is responsible for maintaining and monitoring utilities systems, ensuring quality and production are maintained, and performing preventative maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to and resolve alarms relating to utilities systems using technical knowledge. Ensure that all actions performed are properly documented
  • Perform preventative maintenance on utilities systems. Ensure that these tasks are performed according to the relevant standard operating procedure and appropriately documented
  • Perform daily checks, data logging, and system monitoring for utilities systems
  • Maintain and organize records and historical data
  • Evaluate concerns with utilities and communicate to leadership as necessary while providing feedback about proposed resolutions and ideas for improvement. Help create and execute change control documents
  • Clean and maintain GMP in utilities areas
  • Help with the creation and revision of standard operating procedures for tasks involving critical utilities

Skills

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent certificate
  • Technical training in electrical, mechanical, and general construction trades
  • Boiler certificate a plus
  • Experience with quality-controlled systems and computer-based process monitoring systems
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with purified water generation
  • Good communication skills
  • Be able to work 12 hour shifts
